| To
register a country code top-level domain name in Thailand, such
as “.co.th”, a company must have either have a physical
presence in Thailand or, must be the owner of a registered mark
in Thailand that includes exactly the same word as the domain
name. The mark must be registered. One cannot register a domain
name based on a pending mark that has not been granted registration.
The trademark may contain other elements such as a logo or other
wording, but the main word in the mark must be the same word
that will be registered as the domain name.
To
register a domain name, we would need the following:
1. Domain name to be registered
2. Business name and description of business
3. Administrative Contact, Technical Contact
and, Billing
Contact (for each of
these 3 individual persons):
-
NIC handle, if any
- Name
- Business name
- Complete address
- Telephone number
- Fax number
- E-mail address
These
3 individual contacts can be anyone, located anywhere in the
world. We would need the names of real (natural) persons,
not just the name of the company or department. An attorney
of our firm may be appointed as administrative and/or billing
contact. We would also need:
4. Primary Name Server
- Primary Server Hostname
- Primary Server Netaddress
5. Secondary Name Server(s)
- Secondary Server(s) Hostname
- Secondary Server(s) Netaddress
6. For a company with a physical presence in Thailand,
we
need a certified copy
of the business registration certificate
issued by the Department
of Business Development,
Ministry of Commerce.
7. The existence of a subsidiary or related company
will not
satisfy the physical
presence requirement. However, a
domain may be registered
in the subsidiary or related
company’s name
instead of in the name of the parent
company.
8. A domain name may be registered for the initial
period of 2
years and then may be
renewed for subsequent 1-year
periods. |
